The Backstory for New Fantasyland will soon be revealed!

No one can entertain or build suspense like Disney.

After seeing this trailer video about the soon to be revealed backstory for New Fantasyland, I’m now counting down the days until the story will be revealed. Check out the trailer below – isn’t it great? I’m DYING to visit and step into this brand New Fantasyland.

You can sign up for backstory updates here on this special Finding New Fantasyland website.

Until all is revealed, I’m memorizing the updated brand new map of New Fantasyland and I’m continually scouting the web for more photos to be released of the various attractions in New Fantasyland as they all near completion.

Everything Disney does is simply awesome and I know this new expansion will be such an incredible addition to Magic Kingdom. My kids are already begging me to book our next trip – I’m thinking this is a great excuse to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon again in February!

Photos Galore of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Guests are dying to sign up for this annual Halloween fest at the Magic Kingdom that runs for 23 Spooky nights.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party rocks – you can see all the dates available for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party here. Guests dress up from 7 PM – 12 AM and can trick or treat too! And Wishes, the firework show becomes the Happy Hallowishes show too!

There is apparently tons of candy and my cousin reports it was also a great time to go on rides with super short lines late at night too. Her 2nd grade girls were out til midnight riding Thunder Mountain last year!

The decorations alone are worth the visit and let’s not forget the unlimited candy and spectacular seasonal parades. I’ve never been myself, but my cousin and best friend both attended with their families and said this party is a Disney “Must Do.”

What else goes on at the Halloween Party ? Parades, Disney characters donning Halloween costumes, and tons of entertainment unique to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. For instance, many popular Magic Kingdom attractions like the Haunted Mansion are spooked up for Halloween.

Nightly entertainment features the twice nightly “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade” led by the infamous Headless Horseman, followed by  “HalloWishes,” a green and orange fireworks display complete with Disney villains.

New this year: Main Street, U.S.A will be the place to be for some monstrous pre-parade entertainment, “The Not-So-Scary Street Jam!” The new activity will take place after the Headless Horseman races down Main Street, U.S.A. and before “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade” begins.

Take a peek at these photos of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Aren’t they awesome?

Everyone raves about this Headless Horseman. My kids would go crazy if they saw him as Kenzie and Kyle are obsessed with the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

I love the characters all decked out in Halloween colors and outfits.

Mickey and Minnie look so cute and check out Pumpkin Donald Duck below.

More Headless Horseman magic….

Brand New Clip for Partysaurus Rex

Toy Story Toons has delivered once again! It’s a bathtub party and one more reason not to miss “Finding Nemo 3D” in the theaters.

I’ve previewed this short already – official “thoughts” to come later, but obviously it is ADORABLE!

Take a peek:

Disney*Pixar’s brand-new Toy Story Toon, PARTYSAURUS REX, will run in theaters before FINDING NEMO 3D starting September 14th. This adorable short is directed by Mark Walsh, produced by Kim Adam, and is the third installment of Toy Story Toons.

Disclosure: Disney paid for our travel expenses to LA for the DisneyInHomeBloggers event. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fantasyland Grand Opening Date Set for Dec. 6th, 2012

Who’s excited about this big news?

It’s official. The Magic Kingdom has set a grand opening date of Dec. 6th, 2012 for the brand new expanded Fantasyland. Previews of Fantasyland will begin on November 19th. I am DYING to see and experience the new attractions. December can’t come soon enough!

Magic Kingdom is my favorite park and I’m sure the expansion to Fantasyland is going to make it even more magical.

We’ve already rode the new Dumbo and it was fabulous. It’s also now officially my 4 year old son’s favorite ride.

Check out these photos & sketches to get a taste of the magic and what new rides and restaurants will be open come December 6th, 2012.

What attraction are you most excited about? I can’t decide.  I’m sure that my 1st look of the Beast’s castle will be majestic & magical, but I can’t wait to ride on these new attractions either.

Here’s Disney’s official PR scoop:

  • Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid  a major attraction where guests will travel with Ariel and her friends through their exciting adventures above and below the waves – all against a musical backdrop of songs from the film. The new attraction combines the enduring appeal of a classic Disney “dark ride” with wonderful technological innovations to offer guests a personal journey into the scenes of the film. Adventurers will feel as if they are descending below the ocean’s surface. Once “under the sea,” guests will find themselves immersed in the story of “The Little Mermaid,” sharing Ariel’s adventure through a magical cast of characters and a captivating musical score that will entice everyone to sing along.  The fun continues at “Ariel’s Grotto,” a meet-and-greet with the mermaid heroine herself.
  • The castle of the Beast stands majestically upon a hill across an old stone bridge from Ariel’s new home. The Be Our Guest Restaurant will feature a lavish dining experience in the elegant ballroom, gallery, and mysterious “West Wing” of the castle. With seating for 550, this magnificent facility will offer “great food fast” service by day and full table service dining in the evening. Nearby in Belle’s Village, guests will find the rousing Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts.
  • Just outside the village is Belle’s cottage and Enchanted Tales with Belle. The adventure begins in Maurice’s workshop, where a magical mirror is the doorway to a captivating new kind of storytelling experience: guests will be transported to the Beast’s library to meet Belle and Lumiere, and share in a lively, interactive re-telling of the “tale as old as time.”

Also, if you have a trip planned before December 6th, you’ll still be able to see lots of the new expanded Fantasyland.

Dumbo is already open – and remember now there are 2 Dumbo’s running side by side in Storybook Circus. And the Barnstormer Coaster is already re-themed to the Great Goofini, the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station water play area will be open and the Fantasyland Train Station is brand new too.

So much to see and do. I can’t wait to visit Walt Disney World again.

Production begins on “The 7D” – a modern take on the Seven Dwarfs

A cartoon version of the Seven Dwarfs brought to life on Disney Junior. Sounds intriguing right?  Titled, “THE 7D”, this new animated series is a comedic take on the world of Seven Dwarfs, in a contemporary storybook world. I wonder if Snow White will ever make a cameo?
Take a peek at the image of THE 7D here and see how they picture BASHFUL, SLEEPY, DOPEY, HAPPY, GRUMPY, DOC, SNEEZY
Scheduled to debut in 2014 on Disney Junior and geared towards ages 2-7.
I imagine this will be a hit if it’s anything like Disney Junior’s recent releases – Doc McStuffins and Jake & The Neverland Pirates. My kids are OBSESSED with those shows and can not get enough of them.
Here’s the official scoop on the synopsis from the Disney Press release info:
The series takes place in the whimsical world of Jollywood, where Queen Delightful relies on the 7D – Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy and Doc – to keep the kingdom in order. Standing in their way are two laughably evil villains, Grim and Hildy Gloom, who plot to take over the kingdom by stealing the magical jewels in the 7D’s mine. With seven very distinct personalities, the 7D always manage to save the day and send Grim and Hildy running back to their evil lair to try another day.

20th Anniversary Walt Disney World Marathon Course Map

Download the 2013 Disney marathon map here as there are some great new changes.

To celebrate, the new Marathon Course has lots of enhancements – like running through Disney’s race car speedway, along with the 4 Theme Parks at Walt Disney World.  Yes this sounds awesome – as this will be the very 1st time runners will dash through the high-banked Walt Disney World Speedway where Indy cars and exotic super cars typically race around the one-mile track.

After running the amazing Disney Princess Half Marathon a few minutes ago I am DESPERATE to do another RunDisney race – it was the most inspirational race of my life and I can not wait to run another RunDisney marathon or half marathon.

Plus, the course will send runners to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex “Champion Stadium”, the major-league style ballpark that’s also the annual spring training home for the Atlanta Braves’.

The race will still start at Epcot as it always has and finish near there as well. Here’s the course map:

The marathon’s commemorative route changes add to the new enhancements recently announced, including enhanced entertainment along Mile 20, a specially-designed 20th anniversary Mickey Mouse medal and a new post-race party at Downtown Disney.

Videos and Photos of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Take a peek! We received a preview tour of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – including touring Suite Sized room in the Nemo section of the hotel – when we attended a dinner event at Disney’s newest Resort Hotel during the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.

I’ve got lots of photos to share and a video tour too – so enjoy the virtual trip below.

To sum it up on the high level: The Art of Animation Hotel is pretty much the dream hotel for a 3-6 year old. Bright colors are everywhere along with decor themed to immerse guests into the storyline of Classy Disney and Disney Pixar films.

And the pool is stellar for kids – it is Disney’s largest resort Pool and is basically Nemo’s Playground. Kids love water, and I suspect this pool will be a giant lure for many kids who will be begging to leave the theme parks for more time at the hotel pool. For kids, this hotel really is the stuff that dreams are made of……

As soon as you step up to the hotel you are greeted by Animation Sketches galore – both on the outside of the hotel and everywhere within the main lobby. Think Bright lights, vibrant colors, and all the characters your children adore from Floor to Ceiling.

And even the light fixtures bring animations to life.  Disney is always all about the details.

What’s different about the Art of Animation Hotel:

Basically, this new Value Resort has a TON of suites at an affordable price so it’s a great option for large families to stay on Disney property. The hotel will open in several phases over the next few months – starting May 31st with the Nemo wing.  Suites also provide a great way to save on meals as they include microwaves and mini kitchenettes – ideal for a quick breakfast in the room and to pack lunch to bring with you to the park. For a large family or anyone who wants to be more frugal, this can be a major way to save money on your Disney vacation.

Pricing at Disney’s Art of Animation Hotel:

Rates will start at $248 for the 1,120 family suites which include two bathrooms, a kitchenette and three separate sleeping areas that can sleep up to six. The 864 standard rooms sleep up to four with rates as low as $94

Three family suite wings will showcase Finding Nemo opening May 31, Cars opening June 18 and The Lion King opening Aug. 10, with elaborate storytelling both inside and out. Standard guest rooms make up The Little Mermaid wing, the final phase to open on Sept. 15.

Photos and Video of Disney’s Art of Animation Nemo Suites

Here’s a video tour and some photos from the Nemo suite we toured. The kids were very impressed with the Nemo decor and theme that carries through the entire room as you’ll see.

Here’s some more photos of the room we toured. Kenzie and Kyle ADORED it as the NEMO theme is never ending within the suite.

The murphy bed down from the wall….. and here it is converted into a dining table below too!

The sitting area – don’t you love the wall hanging ? A school of fish!

The Master Bedroom is even complete with a coral type comforter that Nemo would approve of…..

Photos of the Pool area at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Kids can frolic in Nemo’s colorful reef with a giant-sized Mr. Ray overlooking their play time – his whose wings span 27 feet. A giant Crush also flanks the other side of the children’s play area.

During our special dinner, we even had a giant costume of a Coral Reef hanging around posing for photos with the kids. Entertaining and very cool!

More Lobby Photos – here is where you check in upon arrival – there were TONS of stations for Disney’s Cast members to check in guests.  This is a value resort and nobody does service like Disney – as clearly evidenced here.

Photos of the Quick Service Dining Area at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort:

When we go to Disney, our family opts for quick service dining the majority of the time – whether we are in the park or at our hotel for a quick breakfast or dinner by the pool or indoors before heading back to the parks for fireworks.

Dining options include a poolside snack bar and pizza delivery – Yeah!  The Landscape of Flavors food court will feature items such as fresh smoothies, hand-scooped gelato and Mongolian barbecue.  Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

And of course the theme of animation is throughout the dining areas too. Light fixtures and all!

More fabulous images in the dining area.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort opens on May 31st, 2012 – with suites from the Nemo Wing and remaining wings Cars, Lion King, and Little Mermaid will roll open in the coming months.

Doesn’t it look whimsical and enchanting? Definitely! The vibe was very energetic and stimulating. Full of Disney vigor and life. I’ve never stayed at a Value resort before, but it was interesting to see such an elaborately themed hotel at a price geared to please a families  budget and wallet. The major contrast I will give to this hotel versus the Deluxe Disney Resort Hotels I’m more familiar with and that we typically book – Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Beach Club and Yacht Club – is that they seem far more relaxing and like a traditional hotel compared to the vibrant stimulation the Art of Animation offers.

This hotel is a child’s dream for certain, however, for parents who prefer the Four Seasons or Marriott style deluxe resorts, they should consider that a quiet ordinary Deluxe Resort may feel more relaxing and less stimulating after a day at the Theme Parks for Mom and Dad.

Hands down kids will choose Art of Animation Resort every time – especially after they experience the pool! My 6 year old Kenzie is already begging me to PLEASE book this hotel for our next visit to Disney.

Disclosure: We received discounts and special media access to Walt Disney World Attractions & Resorts with our conference pass to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own – or the kids!
