Thousands come out to Welcome the Disney Princesses to London

Wow! Just to give you a sense of the hold Disney Princess has on the hearts of children (and their Moms!) take a peek at these photos.

My behind the scenes photos from yesterday didn’t do this spectacular event justice as I was in a secure area within the Palace to prepare for the crowning & red “pink” carpet- meanwhile outside the Palace grounds all kinds of action was happening. The people of London certainly embraced all the Disney magic yesterday!

Massive crowds gathered in Kensington Gardens, London dying to catch a glimpse of  the popular Disney Princesses and Rapunzel. An estimated 25,000  fans lined the parade route waving flags and welcoming Rapunzel and the other Disney Princess characters in their horse-drawn carriages as they arrived for Rapunzel’s celebration and official ceremony to welcome her as the 10th Disney Princess.

Rapunzel & Classy Mommy visit Big Ben!

The soon to be official Disney Princess beat me once again to another hot spot in London. Rapunzel admires one of the world’s most famous clocks, Big Ben, as her sightseeing adventures come to an end. And yes, I had my moment today with Big Ben too as you can see below!

Big Ben is VERY big and I was amazed by it’s beauty on this gorgeous fall day in London. I popped up from the Tube after venturing out to explore this morning – despite the jet lag and not sleeping for 24 hours to be greeted by this majestic fixture in London.

Rapunzel posed for a quick picture on Westminster Bridge before heading to Kensington Palace to start preparing for her royal celebration.

Disney will officially welcome Rapunzel as the 10th Disney Princess character at a celebration at Kensington Palace, to take place in front of a global audience on October 2, 2011.

Disclosure: Disney paid for my travel expenses to London so ClassyMommy can cover this historic Disney Princess event for our audience.

Rapunzel Hits Covent Garden Today

Looks like Rapunzel is keeping busy while in London. Today she hit the market – with her hair in tow.  Glad she could fit in a special stop at Covent Garden to see the rich cultural offerings of London’s popular marketplace.  Hope I have time to visit there too!

Wonder where she’ll visit tomorrow? Hmmmm. Any guesses?

Disney will officially welcome Rapunzel as the 10th Disney Princess character at a celebration at Kensington Palace, to take place in front of a global audience on October 2, 2011.

Rapunzel’s Hair Spotted in London!

Looks like the dazzling Disney Princess beat me to London!

Her hair has been spotted – what looks like about 70 feet of it – coming out of a window at the Tower of London. Love it!

Rapunzel will be visiting landmarks in London starting today at the Tower of London and ending on Friday as she prepares for her official welcome to the Disney Princess Royal Court as the 10th Disney Princess character on Sunday October 2nd at Kensington Palace.

Locations for her appearances are still top secret – but if you are in London keep an eye out for Rapunzel and her gorgeous locks!

Free Dumbo Printable Games and Activity Sheets

It’s the 70th anniversary of Dumbo!

Celebrate today’s September 20th, 2011  release of DUMBO as a 2-Disc Blu-ray Hi-Def & DVD Combo Pack  with these free fun printable games and activities for the kids. My kids love doing worksheets and think it is such a treat when I print out special character activities for them.
We’ve been reading the story Dumbo lots recently as I just bought a $1 copy of the Dumbo book from Target. The kids loved Dumbo – especially my 3.5 year old son Kyle. They really enjoyed our early preview of this movie on DVD. The kids would never suspect this story was 70 years old! It’s a great length for kids too at just over 60 minutes so I didn’t have too much guilt about giving them the TV time to relax and watch this story play out on DVD.

Download Printable Activities!

Disclosure: We received a free sample of the Dumbo DVD to facilitate our reviews on ClassyMommy.com
